Petroseas is looking for an experienced Project Manager – Offshore Cables to take full responsibility for the delivery of complex subsea cable projects, from contract award and project preparation through offshore execution to final close-out.
Our projects involve subsea cable installation, burial, protection and repair, including nearshore, inter-array and export power cables for offshore energy infrastructure.
As Project Manager, you are accountable for the overall performance of your projects. You bring together engineering, marine operations, offshore teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure that every phase is executed safely, efficiently, commercially and according to plan.
You will be the principal interface with the client and provide clear leadership to the multidisciplinary Petroseas project team.

Your role
From the moment a project is handed over from the commercial team, you take ownership of its successful delivery. You establish the project strategy, build the team and maintain control over scope, schedule, cost, risk and execution.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing offshore cable projects throughout the complete lifecycle, from contract handover and preparation through mobilisation, offshore execution, demobilisation and close-out.
- Taking overall responsibility for project scope, budget, schedule, quality, HSE and contractual performance.
- Developing the project execution strategy together with engineering, operations and other key disciplines.
- Leading multidisciplinary project teams and establishing clear responsibilities, priorities and objectives.
- Acting as the primary client interface and developing strong, professional and transparent client relationships.
- Monitoring project progress, financial performance, forecasts, milestones and KPIs.
- Identifying and managing technical, operational, contractual, commercial and SHEQ risks throughout the project.
- Coordinating engineering, procurement, subcontracting, equipment, vessels, personnel and offshore resources.
- Managing subcontractors and key suppliers and ensuring their performance supports overall project objectives.
- Working closely with engineering teams to ensure technical solutions are practical, safe and suitable for offshore execution.
- Preparing and overseeing project mobilisations and demobilisations in coordination with marine, logistics, engineering and offshore teams.
- Providing leadership during offshore execution and ensuring emerging issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Managing changes to scope and client requirements, including their contractual, schedule and commercial implications.
- Supporting variation orders, claims and commercial negotiations together with the relevant commercial and contract functions.
- Identifying opportunities for additional scope and supporting the development of long-term client relationships.
- Ensuring project activities comply with Petroseas procedures, client requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Leading project close-out, including final documentation, financial completion, client acceptance and lessons learned.
What you bring
This position requires someone who can combine project leadership, offshore operational understanding and commercial awareness.
You are comfortable making decisions, setting priorities and maintaining oversight while working in a technically demanding and fast-moving offshore environment.
We are looking for:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Technology, Project Management, Business or another relevant discipline.
- Relevant experience managing projects within the offshore, subsea, marine or energy industry.
- Demonstrable experience with subsea cable installation, cable burial, cable protection and/or cable repair projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations and offshore execution.
- Strong understanding of offshore contracting and project delivery.
- Sound commercial awareness, including experience with project budgets, forecasting, variations and contractual requirements.
- The ability to identify and manage technical, operational and commercial project risks.
- Strong client and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- A structured and decisive approach to project delivery combined with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience working with project-management and ERP systems.
- A strong commitment to HSE, quality and operational excellence.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel internationally and visit offshore operations when required.
Candidates from closely related disciplines such as subsea construction, SURF, marine installation, offshore wind, heavy offshore installation or offshore construction may also be considered where relevant project-management and operational experience can be demonstrated.
