Engineer – Offshore & Energy

Start broad. Build experience. Discover where your engineering talent can make the greatest impact.

Petroseas is looking for motivated Engineers who want to develop their careers within the offshore, marine and energy industries.

Whether you have recently completed your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or already have your first professional experience, you may not yet want to specialise in a single engineering discipline. At Petroseas, that is not a problem. We believe that exposure to different technical challenges, project phases and offshore operations is one of the best ways to develop as an engineer.

As an Engineer at Petroseas, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and offshore professionals on a variety of projects. Depending on your background, interests and project requirements, you may contribute to engineering activities across multiple disciplines.

The objective is simple: develop strong engineering fundamentals, gain practical offshore knowledge and gradually discover where your strengths and ambitions can take you.

Reporting toEngineering Manager / Lead Engineer

Your role

As part of our engineering team, you will support projects from early concepts and tendering through detailed engineering, mobilisation and offshore execution.

Your activities may include:

  • Supporting installation and offshore execution engineering for marine and offshore operations.
  • Developing technical solutions, calculations, drawings, procedures and engineering documentation.
  • Supporting structural and mechanical engineering activities for offshore equipment and temporary works.
  • Contributing to marine engineering, including vessel arrangements, equipment integration and operational planning.
  • Supporting lifting, rigging, transportation and installation studies.
  • Assisting with subsea and offshore construction engineering.
  • Supporting engineering related to drilling, well services, decommissioning, offshore installation and renewable energy projects.
  • Working with engineering software and supporting the development of calculation tools, models and technical workflows.
  • Preparing technical specifications and supporting equipment and subcontractor evaluations.
  • Participating in engineering reviews, risk assessments and project meetings.
  • Working closely with Project Engineers, Lead Engineers, Project Managers, offshore teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Supporting project mobilisations and, depending on the project, attending offshore operations.
  • Resolving technical challenges together with engineering and operational teams.
  • Ensuring engineering activities are performed in accordance with Petroseas procedures, client requirements and applicable industry standards.
  • Capturing lessons learned and helping improve our engineering methods and working practices.

As your experience develops, you can take increasing ownership of engineering packages, technical interfaces and eventually complete work scopes or projects.

What you bring

We are looking for engineers who are technically curious and want to understand how engineering decisions translate into real offshore operations.

You preferably have:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Marine Technology, Maritime Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
  • An interest in the offshore, marine and energy industries.
  • A strong technical foundation and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability and willingness to learn new engineering disciplines and technologies.
  • A practical mindset and an interest in how equipment and engineering solutions actually perform in the field.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A structured and accurate approach to engineering documentation and calculations.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility.
  • A strong commitment to HSE, quality and safe offshore operations.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel and, depending on the role and project, work offshore when required.

Previous offshore experience is an advantage, but for junior positions it is not essential. Your technical foundation, motivation and ability to develop are equally important.

Develop your engineering career at Petroseas

At Petroseas, we do not expect every engineer to know from day one exactly where they want to specialise.

Working across different projects and disciplines gives you the opportunity to build a broader understanding of offshore operations before developing deeper expertise in the areas that suit you best.

You may find your future in installation engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering, marine operations, subsea engineering, offshore construction, drilling and well services, decommissioning or renewable energy.

As your knowledge grows, so can your responsibilities.

At Petroseas, you can expect:

  • Exposure to a broad range of international offshore and energy projects.
  • The opportunity to work with experienced engineers, project managers and offshore specialists.
  • Involvement in projects from engineering and preparation through mobilisation and offshore execution.
  • A combination of technical engineering and practical operational experience.
  • Opportunities to work across different engineering disciplines before choosing a specialisation.
  • Increasing technical responsibility as your experience develops.
  • A professional environment where engineers are encouraged to ask questions, challenge ideas and develop practical solutions.
  • Opportunities to progress towards positions such as Project Engineer, Discipline Engineer, Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.
